Geelong Eastern Beach

Looking for place to rest and/or have fun? then Geelong beach is a good place to stay especially if you are tight on budget. You can bring your own foods and things and stay beside the pool. Just a bit more than an hour drive from the city, this place is safe as it name implies - shark proof sea bath. A day tour here would be enough.

Property Investing

Even though I am only a new migrant, I wanted to know where to start in property investing. I may not have the money to invest in it now, but I think it would be best if I can start educating myself and prepare before I get the requirements.

There are few who can help and I found a good one that gives a good support for those who wanted to engage in property investing. Alliance Corp gives out free brochures and a DVD that contains details on how the owner of the business started and how they can help those who wanted to invest in property. In the brochures are minimum or basic requirements and some of the options where to start to.

For more details, check out Alliace Corp website and request for your free copy!

Australian Business Number

Google Australian Business Number (ABN) and you will end up with site that offers "Help" in creating it for you. Their price ranges from $75 to $150. What do they do? They make the form a bit complicated to show that you need help. Fortunately, I called the hotline number from the ABN site and they said that one can get it for free. The main thing here is you pay the tax if a business of yours has profited.

It can be used is you have a special skill and you want earn from it. This and an advertisement/account with Gumtree would be a good combination. Many part time job requires having this. It takes  a week to receive your number and you can choose the activation date for your number.

The Library

I am at the Brimbank Library  (Watergardens) using internet while my kids wait for their turn on the wii to play their favorite game "Kirby". And that's not all as this library has tons of informative and reference books that are current and more often cost a fortune. CD's, DVD's and other educational materials are available here and can be taken home by members for a limited time - even the wii games, that is.

Membership is free as long as you are an Australian or Permanent Resident visa holder.Their requirement -  proof of billing or any documents that has your address and name on it. I used my Tax number file and that's it! Borrowing is very easy as it is automated.
If you cannot get a membership, you can still read books inside the library and use the computer for 30 minutes (1 hour limit for members). The staffs are very helpful and friendly.

City Circle Tram

Melbourne offers a lot of views and historical establishments. In the City, there are few trams available and trips are about 10 minutes apart. Inside these City Circle trams are recorded voice for guiding tourist on the attractions as it travels. Some tram stops settle for about 5 to 10 minutes for tourist to view the attractions on  its stop.

Some Australians and residents also ride these as they are free or probably when they are on a hurry and it is the first one to arrive.

Below is the City Circle route:
